Big part of Timothy's 13 years of staying in Canada brought him experienced junior high, senior high and university.  He met his first saxophone instructor, Mr. Campbell Ryga (www.campbellryga.com) , at age of 14.  Timothy's saxophone study made a big turning point when he met one of the best known legendary jazz educators and jazz saxophonists in West Coast in North America, Mr. Stanley Karp ( www.stankarpmusic.com ).  Stanley and Tim spent most of the lessons in studying jazz music education and music psychology.  Stanley's remarkable teaching methods not only gave Timothy a life-long benefit in knowing good self-study habit in music, but also effected greatly psychologically when dealing with music.

After years of studying or playing with great musicians and jazz bands, Timothy had a strong desire in carrying on this passion when he returned to Taiwan in 2001.  CorkSam Studio was officially established in Autumn 2001.  The purpose of having this studio is to popularize jazz music and saxophone study in Taiwan.  Timothy believes that learning the music successfully is not to treat “learning music” as an external thing in your 24hr life, but every learner has to learn how to combine things in his or her life, in terms of mentally, logically and crisscrossily in many aspects.

Jazz music gives Timothy an opportunity to know the importance of being creative, full of imagination and observable.
